An Afternoon at the Pops

The Saraton is incredibly proud to present this 100th Anniversary Concert of the Saraton Theatre, a monumental milestone that calls for an equally monumental program. To celebrate, we are turning the spotlight on the unforgettable Music of Stage & Screen over the last century, with compere, ‘song & dance man’, Mr. Todd McKenney. One of Australia’s most versatile performing artists, Todd McKenney, is an award-winning performer on stage and screen. As an actor and the leading man in musical theatre productions, he has entertained Australians for over 30 years.

We also welcome back local vocalist Lisa Butcher, who will be singing some well-known stage & screen hits, along with the incredible dancing troupe of the Clarence River Dance Academy.

For the past one hundred years, the magic of the theatre and the wonder of the cinema have been inextricably linked to the music that brings them to life. Whether it is the triumphant brass of a cinematic adventure, the delicate strings of a tragic romance, or the soaring vocals of a Broadway showstopper, these are the scores that have shaped generations.

The talented musicians of the Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus, under the baton of Artistic Director Greg Butcher, have lovingly curated a program that honours this rich history. We invite you to join us in celebrating the Saraton's milestone and allow the music to transport you through a century of storytelling.
